Accomplishment: First major extraction and reclamation in CA ahead of schedule. Net over $100,000 within 3 months of project start. No reports of service outages or disruptions. Verizon, Lafayette IN Local Manager, 2002-2007

Managed up to 32 bargained for employees in a technical department. Scrubbed Engineering work orders, dispatched jobs to techs. I had responsibility for day-to-day operations while adhering to administrative, technical, regulatory and budgetary guidelines. Accomplishment: Successfully pled my case to OSHA after being shut down by an inspector for inappropriate use of an aerial truck. When I was audited following the event I was able to produce 5 years of documented safety plan meetings including specific training regarding use of the aerial truck and the manufacturer's specs. OSHA agreed after reviewing all of the information, that they had shut us down without warrant and we were working completely within guidelines. They admitted they made a mistake. Summary: Had the documentation not been available, the company would have been found in violation and fined a considerable sum. We not only avoided a fine, but made a friend with our local OSHA representative who was very impressed by the due diligence shown

Level (3) Contractor, Broomfield CO Project Manager, 2000-2001

Project Manager for Day 1 and beyond switch and infrastructure build outs for collocation. Worked closely with Sales, Customers and Engineering to define requirements and establish timelines up front. Awarded bids to Vendors and drove high on time completion rates. Traveled extensively across the US. Accomplishment: Worked with a Sales team to bring in a foreign customer who was "shopping around" to find the quickest build for their North America expansion. We overcame a language barrier by drawing pictures on a white board. This allowed me to assure them we knew what they wanted and understood the urgency. Due to material and equipment backlogs, we also had to agree upon a phased build which gave them the connectivity they required before the due date and let us complete the rest of the build on an as needed basis. Summary: A

$25 million dollar contract over a 5-year period.

Qwest Communications, Denver CO Engineer/Project Manager/Technician, 1977-2000

Network Technician - Performed construction, repair and maintenance of copper facilities in all physical environments. Installed and repaired large air dryer units requiring lock out tag out. I am proficient in the   use of aerial lift equipment and knowledge/use of underground confined space equipment such as gas tester and air blowers. OSP Engineer - Researched, created and drew complex wiring schematics. Worked with outside forces and customers to provide efficient timely response for service. Project Management of special construction not covered by routine work orders, accountable for completing assignments within budget and on schedule. Accomplishments: Many over a 22 year tenure but primarily gaining an understanding of the accounting process and how it affects the company as a whole and specific jobs. When I was in planning for example; I noticed a job that was 3 years old and had never really been started but it remained on the books. Work was not done but the job continued to take loadings/spreads. So every year it was open we gained nothing, lost money and had capital dollars tied up on a project that simply wasn’t going to take place any time soon. I brought this to the attention of my Director and Accounting and the job was canceled, funds reallocated. Summary: Money in the coffers for other projects that were more important and needed funding.

Skills: Multiple including all MS 2007 intermediate level or above; familiarity MS project, OSPFM, CPD, LFACS, Bidmaster, Fireworks and Cimage; some CAD and experience deploying Calix as well as FTTH: Expert relationship management and dedication to top of the line Customer Service.
